Experience the true lowland rain-forest experience with our river canoe and hiking expedition on the Indonesian island of Papua. While porters will be carrying your luggage and the canoes are motorised this is still a difficult hike and you should be fit and well enough to undertake this sort of exploration. We will be many days away from medical help.

Our exploration will bring us into contact with local cultures and tribes who have very limited experience of the modern world – we expect you to respect their customs and beliefs. We’ll also get to see some amazing wildlife as we journey through pristine lowland rainforest so make sure you have plenty of batteries and memory cards for your camera.

Despite all the hard work and basic conditions this will be a rainforest experience that you will remember.
