Explore the fascinating and scenic Cuc Phuong National Park on our short two-day trek through the forests to meet up with the local community. No stay in the capital of Vietnam is complete without exploring the wonderful wildlife and environment that is just a short ride from the bustling Hanoi.
Sample itinerary:
Day 1: Hanoi – Cuc Phuong National Park.
Your guide arrives to pick you up from your hotel early in the morning – from 7.00am for the journey to Ninh Binh. The minivan ride to Cuc Phuong National Park takes about 2.5 to 3 hours in total.
We will visit a local wildlife rescue centre and sanctuary. Here we are given an introduction to the wide diversity of life that can be found in the forests of Cuc Phuong. We will learn about the many endangered species that we may come across during our time here.
Our long trek (18 km) begins here and takes us through the life and sounds of the local rain forests. A picnic lunch is served on the way.
Our trek will last for 5 hours as we explore and experience the plants, animals and insects of this fascinating world. We also enjoy the wide scenery in breaks of the trees as we look across the rice fields to the mountains in the distance.
We arrive at a village of the Muong people where we will take off our packs and relax at a Muong ethnic style home stay. Dinner, then free time to talk with the host family and learn about the Muong people’s life and culture.

Day 2: Cuc Phuong – Tam Coc – Hanoi.
Breakfast is served at the village then goodbye with the villagers before our short walk of 4 km to the road where we will get picked up and transferred to Tam Coc, Vietnam’s Inland Halong.
Lunch is served at a nearby restaurant where we have time to relax. At about 2:00 pm journey on a local row boat for a couple of hours down a small stream passing rice paddies and on through the three caves of Tam Coc. Minibus transfer back to Hanoi where your tour ends at your hotel by 5:00 pm.
