The Pohutukawa forest and pristine beaches provide the perfect backdrop for wildlife and birdwatching. Tui, Bell birds, wood pigeons, morepork, fantails, Kaka are just some of the species of native birds you are likely to see on our day tour.

For those of you who are energetic there is the option for climbing up the old crater that is known as the Devil’s Staircase. There is also the chance to take a sea kayak tour through the volcanic caves that dot the coastline, providing a chance to come across marine wildlife.

If you love the water then you can take time to dive in the local marine reserve. Here you can swim around the sunken boulders and take in views of the many species of fish and marine plants.

Because the island is still relatively undeveloped and much of the activities can be physical you do need to have a certain level of fitness to make the most of our helicopter tours around Tuhua.

We can take group sizes between 2 and 15 people, you decide on your itinerary for the day and leave the organising to us. Some activities may be at extra charge.
