Bird nesting boxes are an excellent way to help our wildlife. They provide shelter and places for the birds to breed. There are lots of different styles to meet even the most demanding of house-proud birds.

Don’t just think about putting a nest box on a pole or attached to a fence. Swallows and swifts can be helped with nest boxes and cups placed under the eves of the house.

A nest box can be put up any time of year. If you’ve missed the breeding season then there’s other wildlife such as insects that may use the bird box as a place to hibernate over winter.
